Free Parliament is a youth organization founded by Georgian students of different schools of Free University of Tbilisi in June 2011.The aim of the activities of the organization is to hold cognitive sessions and seminars, inform students and involve them into everyday life, make relationships with foreign students and hold joint events.
Free Parliament is one of the first organizations founded by
Georgian students. Members of the organization gathered and decided to create
students’ initiative group in June 2011. The aim of the group was to give
possibility to students, who were interested in international politics and all
kinds of relationships to find out more about how international organizations
work. For this, it was necessary to become members of the work and get known
with the system from inside.
The organization expanded and the members decided to establish a
noncommercial organization, which would involve only students. On the 24th of
January 2012 Free Parliament was registered as a noncommercial legal person and
started working actively.
As Free Parliament is a youth organization, the main reason is
to give them more and more information. Moreover, to inform youth about the
news that happens all around the world. We help students to gather all the necessary,
useful and hot news and to analyze it. In addition, one of the main reasons is
to give students chance to acquaint with Georgian Students of different
universities. We give them great opportunities to develop useful skills, as
team working, presentation skills, and critical analysis of specific issues in
a short period of time. We think that better informed youth, is country’s key
to success.
As it is already mentioned, Free Parliament was founded about
three years ago. This year, we decided to do something new, we want to enlarge
our borders and find branches in different countries. It will help us to get
new contacts with the youth of different origins.
